San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- Members of the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians (ACTAF) in this locality integrates together with other actors into the production of land for sustainable agricultural and forestry development.
Reforestation, promotion of forest areas, protection of soil and water as well as the training of farmers to develop crops based on agro-ecology and application of organic nutrients to minimize the use of chemicals are carried out by members of the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians, stands Sulemis Olivera, Communicator of the Association in Ariguanabo.
She states that they receive support from the National Forest Development Fund to finance projects. They motivate the promotion of forest areas and the environmental conservation for the economy and sustainability of life on the planet.
Points out Sulemis that the ACTAF promots planting fruit trees in the urban area of the municipality through urban, suburban and family agriculture and influence the hidrorreguladora strip of Ariguanabo River because it supplies water for the capital.
