Roberto Conde: a genuine painter

Roberto CondeRoberto Conde It gladdens me to recognize on the wall of a room a landscape of Roberto Conde, a genuine painter. His landscapes are full of vital energy. Born in San Antonio de los Baños, in 1956, Roberto Conde, is an Agricultural Mechanization Graduate, but his vocation approached him to creators such as El Gallego Posada, René and Raúl de la Nuez. During his long work at the Provincial Art Gallery he unleashed an unstoppable passion for plastic and joined the group of creators of the province, so he lived an intense process of experience and professionalism that already marked his work since 1982. His illustrations appear in magazines, newspapers and catalogs, as well as books for children and youth. He has participated in more than sixty collective and twelve personal exhibitions.

His greatest achievement is to have triumphed having a complex personal condition: loss of vision. But he devoted himself to the work with creative energy, so painting has saved him. Various themes marks the work of Roberto Conde. The most emblematic buildings and sites of San Antonio de los Baños, the sea, sailing boats, stormy skies, tres and recently, ancient fortresses and monuments of Havana. Conde has also proved to be a good anatomist who gets into people’s soul.

Nothing is so eloquent in his paintings than his optimism. Life is celebrated and sung at the omnipresence of this creative talent. Roberto Conde paints an infinite desire to conquer every morning.
