Self-employment impacts favorably on the local budget

San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba. There were more than 2140 self-employed workers at the end of August, represented in different ways. They contribute to the increase of the local budget.

Ramiro León, Head of the Employment and Procedures Unit, states that it is significant the incorporation of young people to this new form of employment. Some of them are represented in the transport sector as carretoneros, bicitaxeros and others that use different means of transport. Also, there are supporting and hired workers at cafeterias, restaurants, paladares, etc. Points out the Head of the Unit that these new economic factors make an important contribution to local development with the payment of taxes, as these are used in supporting the financing of social spending for the benefit of the ariguanabense society.
