Blockade harms health and education sectors

Blockade Blockade Culture, sport and education sectors are sensitive to the impact of the blockade against Cuba. Successive governments of the United States have maintained and supported this cruel, inhuman and illegal policy, in order to curb the financial and commercial economic development of our nation.

In 2014, the US President, Barack Obama announced the restoration of relations between the two countries; he also recognized the failure of the blockade against Cuba and the need to make a change in this regard; nevertheless, damages continue. The blockade has a negative effect on the education sector. It makes the purchase of school materials, supplies and instruments impossible; as well as the existence of barriers that do not allow new technologies access.

The irrational US policy is brutal, as it limits the development of special education in which students with visual and hearing impairments receive care. This kind of teaching requires means for preparing students in order to fully integrate them into society. It is a right and a principle reflected in our Constitution, despite the restrictions imposed by the unjust blockade.
