International Literacy Day

LiteracyLiteracy Every September 8th, the world celebrates the International Literacy Day. The world cries out for a greater understanding among human beings. Misery and poverty are inseparable allies of ignorance, therefore, UNESCO established the International Day to promote literacy and  give everyone the possibilities and opportunities to realize their aspirations, hopes and life plans. This celebration is aimed at eliminating ignorance, oppression and inequality.

Humanity needs an avalanche of pencils, notebooks, workbooks and classrooms, so that everyone has access to education. Literacy is the basis for building a better future. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the International Literacy Day and guided by the projections until 2030, actions have to reach every corner with the inclusion of equal rights to facilitate the quality of life. It is necessary to multiply school materials and not military arsenal, promote the construction of educational institutions and not their destruction as a result of wars. Literacy is a life opportunity; that life that needs and cries out for peace and understanding among peoples.
