New School Year
2016-2017 school year started on September 5th. San Antonio de los Baños worked to ensure the entry of students into the classrooms of all educational centers. Ivonne Alvarez González, General Director of Education, Culture and Sport, informs us about the start of the school year.
What activities characterize this new school year?
Municipal Directorate and pedagogical groups and Boards of Directors of each school participated in seminars before beginning the course. The route of the Deputy Minister for the territory and her participation in these meetings enriched the exchange from the recognition of the importance of preparing teachers.
Our streets were lively with enthusiasm and joy of those students who started and those who continue their comprehensive training to become men and women that this society needs. The initial event was held at ‘’José Martí’’ Primary School, located on 70th Street. This center was highlighted last year and has a stable group. It was declared ‘’Martiano Center’’ due to the treatment and projection of the Master’s ideas and the unity and coherence of the pedagogical group, the Council of Parents and community factors.
Among the challenges of the course are the preparation of teachers and directors through the joint work of family-school-community, the diagnosis and characterization of the student and the family to take into account the characteristics of teaching groups, all this leads us to a better learning quality.
