This organization unconditionally supports the Revolution and historical leaders and confirms the commitment to continue fighting against the enemies of the homeland. It maintains the priority of strengthening culture. Artists and intellectuals exchange views, give participation to new creators and open spaces to strengthen culture as an intellectual vanguard of our country.
The Fourth National Council of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba will be held on September 13th and 14th; therefore its members are involved in the assesment of the agreements of the 8th Congress. A comprehensive program includes debates on the conceptualization of the Cuban Economic Model and the National Plan for Economic and Social Development until 2030.
The organization leads the promotion of the cultural richness of our country, emphasizing the importance of museums to offer the image of Cuba in correspondence with national identity. Topics related to the role of music, rumba and danzón as national dances still deserves a further emphasis.
UNEAC, as an expression of its strength, carries out important tasks, among them: to take art and culture to the street and take the street to its associations.
