The Communist Party militants carried out a broad revolutionary work primarily within the working class. They in the organization and incorporation of women and peasants to the movement.
From the Communist Party, youth who gave their lives for the cause as Armando González Ordaz, ‘’Bullita’’ emerged. He was a prominent activist in the labor movement, born in San Antonio de los Baños and killed in the capital on October 9th, 1935.
Despite the tenacious persecution of communists, the Party continued its work and San Antonio had a good representation in the Communist Youth League and the International Labor Defense. It was founded the Brotherhood of Cuban Youth in which Daniel Valdés, Plácido Somoano, Nila Ortega and Evelio Alvarez played a key role in their organization.
The Communist Party was fighting for its legalization. In this effort, hundreds of workers were organized. The pamphlets of the Party Program were delivered to every house and farm. Along with the orators of the town, Blas Roca, Salvador García Aguero, Lazaro Peña, Carlos Rafael Rodríguez and José María Pérez Capote also participated.
