San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- The intensive garden of the Agricultural Production Cooperative ‘’Augusto César Sandino’’, winner of the Triple Crown, shows the results of a sustainable agriculture work, delivering fresh products to the population.
The small group consists of four workers and the manager of the garden Jesús Díaz Ramírez. He states that they are engaged in the preparation of the field and the crops (peppers, spinach, okra, green beans) with the use of worm humus and organic material, nutrients suppliers to the soil.
The steady attention throughout the year helps keep the offer with great acceptance and impact in Ariguanabo. So, in summer and cold seasons people can find varied and fresh products, direct from the land to the family kitchen.
The 6 600 square meters of arable land favored by recent rains, show within aromatic plants: garlic, leek and mountain garlic, chives, oregano, rosemary, oreganillo and basil. Moreover, fruits of the season like mango, guava, avocado, among others.
