PREVENTIONSan Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- Education and Public Health Directorates in this town develop preventive actions for different programs. The education sector develops a program of sexuality and driver education in student centers at all levels of education.
Talks, media and contests are some of the methods used to prevent various diseases. Health workers visit institutions and carry out workshops with workers in order to prepare them on the subject.
Meanwhile driver education plays a valuable role within the program and methodological guidelines applied through classes. Preventive work is included through Ministerial Resolution 139,2011 and is strictly enforced in the educational process.
Some topics are included in Sexual Education: pregnancy prevention and methods, HIV-AIDS, gender equality, sexually transmitted infections STIs and pregnancy during adolescence due to the high incidence of infected cases with sexual transmission infections in the municipality.
