FOOTBALL
''Mine first'' is a popular slogan of Cuban popular vocabulary. I bring it up to talk about a sport that is booming in his national championship and television is not aware of that competition. An old proverb says: "Our wine is bitter but it is our wine." I would say, "Our football is not good, but is our football. Why are not the National Championship matches broadcasted in its 101th edition?, Is not there the technology needed to do it?, Is a priority of the Sports Writing the games of the best leagues in the world?, or do you know that a national football transmission will not be watched?
Cuban football problems exist and persist despite the efforts of the National Commission, but I think to gain a general knowledge of the sport, we should enjoy all the events and the national product can not be exempted from broadcasts . It is inconceivable that football fans know by heart the statistics and the results of the various leagues and best athletes, and they do not know anything about our championship.
Our provincial stadiums don’t have the quality needed to play. Tactical and technical level of our athletes is weak and when we have a few that stand out, they go abroad, sometimes by authorized contracts and others desert. Quality is important, but I repeat ``mine first`` and national football, which is made in Cuba, also deserves its place. At least, I think so.
