Ariguanabense inspectors are working to detect urban illegalities

CONSTRUCTIONCONSTRUCTIONSan Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- In this municipality, the  State Inspection Directorate of the Municipal Administration  Council is working to detect illegalities in territorial and urban planning. Once the technicians of the State Control Department of the Physical Planning Office detect these irregularities in the territory, they make a summons, but inspectors impose penalties or fines.

In this case they apply Decree Law 272 of 2001, in which Article 5 refers to contraventions of planning regulations and measures to be implemented, either to natural or legal persons. As reported by  Yordanka Grandía, specialist in the construction sector of the State Inspection Directorate, the fines applicable to illegalities in territorial and urban planning vary in the amount of 250, 500 and 1000 pesos in national currency. In addition, the offender is imposed an "obligation to do", it means, a measure involving the demolition or restoration to the original state of the construction work.

In this 2016, frequent and repeated breaches, including illegal construction in multifamily buildings, corrals, stairs sidewalks and perimeter fences in unauthorized sites, are maintained.
