San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba.- The lack of balls, to start the 6th edition of the Provincial Baseball Series in Artemisa on February 13th, is the main reason why it was postponed the opening of the biggest sports event of the province. The news was disclosed in the Technical Congress, held at ´´July 26th´´ Stadium in Artemisa, with the presence of the Provincial Commissioner of Baseball in this province, Leonardo Quesada,12 directors of the teams that will be competing, the press as well as INDER officials.
To shorten the 6th Provincial Baseball Series, with eleven matches in the qualifying stage, they took into account not only the lack of balls but the team's preparation for the National Championship, event which will start on May 22nd and for which the Artemiseños must have, at least, six weeks of preparation.
According to information provided by the commissioner Leonardo Quesada, all managers will be introduced on February 29th, if the Provincial Commission ensures enough balls to start the baseball match on March 3rd, otherwise, it will again be postponed.
