CENTRALPARK
The Central Park is a public square in Ariguanabo designed for recreation of the residents. José Martí’s bust, our National Hero, is located in the middle of the park, which is on 41st Avenue of the People's Council ´´Urban Center´´, in San Antonio de los Baños. It is a fun site for children, a meeting, conversation or relaxation place for young people and adults, and a transit area for the habitants.
In its area, public events are held, and artistic creations of Ariguanabense artisans are exposed. It has gardens, that stand out for the variety of plants and trees, some of them centenarian and trails bordered by granite and metal seats.´´La Plaza de Armas´´of San Antonio de los Baños was qualified as Central Park in 1896, when the floor was cemented, wooden benches and pillars with kerosene lamps were placed at each intersection, while a set of poplars that embellished the environment was planted.
The remodeling of the Central Park altered its original structure, but did not change its recreational use that satisfies the tastes of Ariguanabo’s users.
