From the Pearl I brought my memories. Memories that I keep with zeal and love. Four unforgettable days in the National Chronicles Competition ´´Miguel Angel de la Torre´´, held in Cienfuegos. A toast to the chronic and the written word.
Together we put a wreath to the teacher in the park and drank daiquiris in the ´´Benny Moré´´ Cultural Center.
A light drizzle accompanied my first hours in Cienfuegos, between the flight of pigeons at sunset and the the boardwalk breeze. Miguel Angel de la Torre, an excellent chronicler, whom the event is dedicated, received our tribute. There he was, with mortals who wrote on his behalf, to perceive the joy of many lovers of this genre.
These memories keep my meeting with Hector Zumbado and his ´´Nostalgic Reflections for the Lemonade´´ .
I could not miss to pose next to Benny Moré staying at the Pearl of the South. I was in the meadow. He received me sculpted in bronze with the original height, hat, cane and fine shoes that fit his greatness as popular musician.
´´Ciudad del Mar´´ Radio , ´´Perlavisión´´ and the courtyard of ´´Terry´´ theater, also knew of emotions, words and enriching exchanges for chronic. The closure could not be better. A treat for those like me, who did not know the ´´Guanaroca´´ Laguna.
Thanks to life that has given me so much! .. Wrote Violeta Parra. I would say, thanks to the Pearl for this time. For this happy meeting full of life, poetry and talent. Only one thought is in my mind, to keep climbing the chronicler height of who inspires this contest: Miguel Angel de la Torre.
