San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba. In this territory is more than 20 years that works the Cuban Society of poultry production (SOCPA).
The group is one of the twelve branches of the Cuban Association for Animal Production (ACPA) in Artemisa Province, for example, Friends of Rodeo, Buffalo, cuniculi, Pastures and Forages, Dairy cattle, among others.
The main objective of the SOCPA is to enable poultry producers regarding animal treatment and transfer of technology needed in the poultry industry.
It also serves as a priority to achieve greater female representation in this agriculture sector.
There are six companies in San Antonio de los Baños with 156 members, three are institutional partners: Lauzant Farm, Territorial Poultry Unity COMAVE and Poultry Abattoir.
Similarly, a group of farmers in the municipality are associated through the sale of small chicks to cooperative and agricultural sector.
Each year the SOCPA reach an increasing number of partners, both Ariguanabo and Artemisa Province. As stated by Guillermo Lara, vice president of the Society in the province, the territory last year ended with 777 members and aims to reach 1200.
It is worth mentioning the results of the training provided to farmers in work practice in the industry, and recognizes Lauzant Farm, because 100 percent of its workers are associated.
