San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba- 2000 ariguanabense self employers are affiliated to different sections of the Central Union of Cuba Workers (CTC), which supports the performance of this type of employment, the boom in the country since easing two years ago.
Sandra Leon, a member of the local secretariat of the Union, said that many of those who today are independent formerly belonging to the labor movement, so they know their rights and duties and prefer to be in collective that handle their concerns, as well as collaborating in multiple tasks of the proletariat.
She explained that over 70 percent of the territory of the self-employed, are represented by committees of 25 persons, which raises concerns for analysis in quarterly assets involving also local government, the Party, the National Office Tax Administration, the Department of Labor and other municipal bodies.
Sandra Leon said the ariguanabense labor movement continues to increase integration associated with the new forms of employment, through different variants in the sectors related to the task they perform, and the centers closest to their places.
She concluded that the Union in San Antonio de los Baños has strengthened and today has about 13 thousand workers comprise one of 18 national unions, which recognize the role and prestige of the self-employed, providing crucial services to the daily life of the population.
