The artistic work of our artists extends to other nations. On the purpose of the convert cultural promoter Evelio Perez Paula, who works in Cancun and talks about the second Craft Fair in this resort during a brief visit he made to Cuba.
What plans does the second fair?
The objective of the fair has not changed, the Cuban craftsmen can interact with their counterparts in southern Mexico, the way these tanned skin, to wallets, is totally different from our creators in Cuba, these details can be useful for both. Here are several examples: in textiles, sculptures, Mexicans are very good sculptors, mayan heritage, I guess. The idea is to search multiple locations in Cancún, from a luxury resort, to a popular park, handicrafts reach everywhere and everyone, in fact, this fair will move to Mérida and Tabasco. Artisans taught free lectures, supported by cultural institutions in Cancun.
Who will support this event?
CubanaAir Flight in moving the parts, the Culture Ministry, the Cuban Association of Craft Artists and Cuban Cultural Fund, and the National Council of Plastic Arts. By the Aztec nation, the House of Culture of Cancun and the Institute for Arts and Culture in Cancun, the company BEPENSA. SA, the Cuban House of Cancun, the Cuban Consulate here. The support is great, Mexico also feels great respect and affection for the Cuban people and that makes everything flow better.
Your job as an artist?
Well, in 1995 I started working at Hermanos Saiz Association, as we all know is an organization that brings together young people under 35 years of age. In all art forms, there I served as the chief manifestation of Fine Arts for several years, I founded the salon Waldo Luis Rodriguez. They worked hard in the restoration gallery The burrowing, and see how was the work on this site. Later I turned the old cap and went to other work in Cancun, and I am still without losing my relations with my country and my culture.
Expectations of this second fair?
Do not make the mistakes of the first experience, take a step further, it is well known, the artists expect and support it better every year, that institutions, both Cuban and Mexican support without dogmas and demonstrate the Cuban art value in the world with this little bit, which is promoted here in Cancun, with intentions to expand to the south of Mexico.
Any suggestions for the participants?
That appeals to the public, the artists are satisfied in every way, to take ownership of this show, the quality would be the best works up to members of ACAA.
Purposes?
I always dreamed of having my own cultural center where artists can experience their desires freely. Even that is far from reality, but not impossible, even errors serve as a lesson.
