It was in high school where I was attracted for Humanities, in 11th grade, after I first heard a greta name that inspires trust and respect, Joel Mayor Loran, the first person who enters in journalism world to my interviewed: Maivy Cruz
How and why did you get it?
In high school I was captivated by the letters, it was clear that my career would be in this way, I begin to ask and find how to get to college to study Humanities, then I find out that in Guanajay is a very good journalist who was preparing students opting for a career in journalism, I went and introduced myself. With him I learned of cultural notions, cinema, national and international news, literature, and writing style, I prepared myself during that time, when I started 12th grade, I was convinced that was going to be a journalist.
When you start the carrear? and would you have in mind names to follow?
I went by the name of Joel, of course, but I had two more that I 've always liked as professionals and by their way of work: Gladys Rubio and Reynaldo Taladrid, I was inspired by them.
At the Ninth Congress of the Union of Cuba Journalists (UPEC), they spoke about young journalism, its importance to face media campaigns, to bring differently information.
Does young journalism (in your opinion), what can bring?
The young journalism can bring freshness, creativity is needed to address current issues, so it is not boring, monotonous, a young journalism that enriches the media, be creative, conversational, not as formal so the people feel identified.
What is the dream of Maivy Cruz?
Become a recognized journalist not only in my village, but also elsewhere.
Who is Maivy?
A revolutionary young, sincere, looking that quality in people, also in the interview ones, I like the responsibility, do not like lying, mediocrity, empty ideas. I like dancing, reading, I like good music, visiting museums, galleries, stroll, that's Maivy Cruz.
