San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba-The Pioneers Palace all over the year highlight the students career counseling through the Circles of Interest.
Maria Eugenia Socarrás, director of the institution with 26 years of experience indicates that teachers every school year -in October-will visit schools in the municipality through conferences and motivate the pioneers in fields as nursing, veterinary medicine, education, clothing, sports, culture, agriculture and agro-ecology and other branches where they can have professional fulfillment in later life.
The director explains that the center acquired a special significance because it should contribute to vocational training from an area's needs in high-impact jobs in the community for their service to the people eg plumbers, electricians, carpenters, masons and which are of great importance right now as we are called to technical training career taking into account the workforce priorities of companies and the opening of self-employment as a source of entry.
The group formed from the pioneers interests, these circles are optional and of free decision by the pioneer. The attention is once a week, the instructor dosed content for the game in the morning hours with the students of the schools of primary education and in the afternoon every fortnight secondary education.
Instructors prepare the meetings with the material and updated information, classes imposed on creativity, create models and other teaching aids that encourage students to both theory and practice and also to make visits to schools to encourage territorial interest in the craft.
The Pioneers Palace develops short courses from October to December and from January to May, students can move in rotation by the different circles: the programs are tailored to the ages and interests of the members.
To ensure and evaluate the care of these circles of interest on a monthly basis bringing together the companies in the area and checks the work of the instructors.
In May, the Pioneers Palace work performed as a verification of the received knowledge, the presentations of the circle of interest at the municipal level, where activities show through theoretical and practical lessons learned, this exhibition will also incorporate the other circles interest of the schools.
