San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba - The Municipal Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology for the systematic action of operators of the Campaign Vectors in the territory ensures constant improvement and training in order to improve the control of mosquito Aedes aegypti and efficiency of supervision in every home, workplace or study.
Maricela Perdomo, trainer at the Polyclinic No. 1, explains that the premise of reviewing every inch gap not to give this potential enemy, are trained with monthly educational actions aimed at operators to avoid wasted resources and protect human life.
Taking into account the needs for improvement they recieve videos, conferences, workshops with the participation of specialists of the Center for Municipal Hygiene and Epidemiology. Updated information on vulnerable areas, environmental conditions, the possible hiding place of the larva, the presence of infection foci, compliance with the cycles and time of fumigation are among the priority issues.
Perdomo points out that the campaign operatives receive training about how to control the housing, workplaces and behavior of the evolutionary cycle of the mosquito, how to detect Aedes and preventive actions and the optimum performance of fumigation, control efficiency to homes and workplaces, the elimination of breeding sites and the imposition of fines on violators.
Continued surveillance can avoid becoming victims, the bite may be a transmitter of microorganisms which include viruses, protozoa, bacteria that cause many diseases.
