San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba- The present tobacco campaign was inaugurated in the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPCs) Battle of Palo Seco. The ceremony was chaired by José Antonio Valeriano Fariñas, member of the Central Committee Party and secretary of this organization in Artemisa.
Aurelio Reyes Santiesteban and Armando Trujillo, Labour National Heroes of the Cuba Republic participated in the meeting.
The distinction Carlos Baliño was given to 6 workers who meet 25 years of uninterrupted work in the sector. They are: Juana Maria Paez, Pedro Fiallo, from the UBPCs September 5th, Angel Ardi, Iliana Miranda, Armando Balceiro and Luis Castellanos, all from the UBPCs Battle of Palo Seco. On the occasion of the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the UBPC founding, 10 workers received recognition on behalf of the 100 who hold this condition.
Bernardo Oliva González, general secretary of the National Tobacco Union emphasized that the country seeks alternatives and makes decisions, and each unit has to be a fortress. We must unite and fight every day against the objective and subjective problems affecting.
