Every April 23rd is recognized as the World Book and Copyright, towns are twinned by the symbolic date for the literature world. That day in 1616, Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega. This year was selected to the city of Port Harcourt in Nigeria as the World Book Capital 2014. It was chosen because of the quality of its program, especially focusing on youth and their contribution to the improvement of the book culture, reading, writing and publishing in Nigeria with a view to increasing literacy rates.
In Cuba culture and education are available to all however we have further enhance the capabilities of books and reading. We contribute to the promotion of each work even no matter the format in which it can appear only with the reference of which is a treasure of wisdom, let us approach and reflect on the legacy and the irreplaceable role for education, culture and science as unstoppable test of the development of humanity.
The book is a window into the diversity of cultures and bridge between civilizations, facilitator in the effort to cultivate values, knowledge, irradiating the aesthetic sense and imagination. It is also regarded as a work of intelligence, creativity and human culture, so that enriches the intangible heritage of humanity.
Meanwhile in referring to copyright, it offer moral man and will to asset intellectual works and their creators is enclosed protection, which grants the right legal framework to support the fullness of this wealth.
Reading is to the imagination a valid training exercise. It is an activity that can be performed alone or in company even possibilities for exchange of views.
The act of reading beginning from the earliest ages, is an unique experience. At some point in our lives we have experienced the joy of a small to pronounce a word, then a group of them and finally get to the message contained a sentence until you can get to read the full text. Always involves attention, concentration, engagement, reflection, all elements that guide a better performance and better outcomes .
Anyway, reading always act as a phenomenon that allows us to encourage our imagination to create new worlds in our minds, reflect on ideas and abstract concepts, contact our language or with others, improve our spelling, learn more about other realities, among other advantages. It is always important to do it in a relaxed and quiet place, which encourage the concentration, to allow the person to forget the surroundings and immerse in the story you read.
