Faced with reality in some point in our lives to assume the role of pedestrians is necessary to stress the responsibility of each individual to make use of the road. To learn more about the topic we talked to Maria Padron Rodriguez, senior specialist in Traffic and Driving School.
What we mean when we say PEDESTRIAN. How we identify them?
Pedestrian is all individual that use the pathway and walking through it. We further refer to a baby car, a wheelchair motorized or not, a physique prevented, is a pedestrian, workers of different services located on the road repairing the underground or airways phones or public lighting, communal services and others are also pedestrians.
Who are the most vulnerable?
On the way children, the elderly and workers, they are prone to accidents; small still are not aware of danger. Childhood and adolescence is the stage of games, the practice of these on the road is a danger. Meanwhile elderly gradually loss reflexes and locomotion difficulties, many assume chores within the dynamics of life and adaptation to changes in the elderly, still feel vitality but responses to a slow event. In the case of workers repairing telephone lines or water networks, or perform community services in these cases, work in the way and focus attention on those shares why an accident could happen to bypass the traffic.
Drivers have the obligation to preserve the pedestrian´s life, however an alcoholic pedestrian is a problem. What specifically refers to?

In San Antonio de los Baños and the rest of the country sometimes students do other activities outside the scholl. What guidelines can provide them?
First I turn to teachers or adults who drive them, they are the most responsible ones, it should be traffic on sidewalks and at least put a front guide and at the end, I will always be an adult, in all cases for railway-crossing the traffic will stop and without running at a fast pace, the conclusion of the last pedestrian traffic will continue.
What other advice can we provide?
Look at both sides of the road, use pedestrian bridges or underpasses on roads that are equipped for crossing without any possibility of interrupting traffic thoroughfare; take the necessary precautions and be sure that there is no vehicle, obey traffic signals. DO NOT forget that we are set reprimanded for pedestrians who break the rules and obligations of the Act No. 109, Highway Safety Code.
We insist that precaution can prevent many accidents. As pedestrians we can assert rights to fulfill our responsibility.
