San Antonio de los Baños , Artemis - The Culture House "Raymundo Valenzuela", opened the exhibition "Confluence" by the weavers "Art with wire" (for adults) and "Spider of humor "(from infant - youth), open until May 21st. The sample consists of more than 20 works that address the topic of clothing, jewelry and home decor.
The techniques used are the crochet and macramé, as a result of creative workshops taught by Graciela Pérez and Belkis García.
The crochet is a technique of hand weaving, using a needle or crochet, that there are different types (plastic, metal, wood and aluminum), with this technique we can weave many projects from accessories for personal use, decorative and clothing.
The fact of crocheting involves identifying the necessary tools to bring us into this wonder. We must distinguish between the material and the team to use to start a project.
Macramé is the art of making decorative knots. Macramé is a French word which means knot. The basic macramé has numerous knots, most notably the flat knot and cote, creating borders (overlapping or woven lists) or plaits or fabrics to decorate bags, pots, lamps, wall hangings and curtains. In today macramé, you can find over 50 different knots.
The workshop is the result of the Elderly University, as a practical activity, which allows the development of artistic creativity in each student, so it was created 10 years ago.
On this occasion the professor Graciela Pérez, announced to the public that will be teaching the next course Maybel Hernández, student of the workshop for five years.
