Agricultural Worker's Day celebrated in Ariguanabo

IMG 20191003 102405 On October 3, 1977, at the Congress of the Agricultural Trade Union, it was proposed to celebrate Agricultural Workers' Day in commemoration of the anniversary of the enactment of the 2nd Agrarian Reform Law, establishing the nationalization of land for the production of food for the people.

The municipal act was held at the Base Enterprise Unit UEB Acopio, located in San Antonio de los Baños. Workers from the Agricultural Enterprise, the Agricultural Department, the Urban Farm and the leadership of the Agricultural sector attended the commemoration.

Anabel Díaz Ramos, secretary of the Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Trade Union, urged its representatives to work harder due to economic constraints, which also affect food production.

Awards were given to the outstanding workers: William Padrón and Alexis Peñalver (Acopio); the veterinarian Robiel León; Leonel Fuentes and Roberto González Nodarse (Urban Farm); as well as Yunier Soler and Reinier Calzado Hermérida (Integral Technical Services).

The daily efforts of the workers to contribute to the Cuban economy, to substitute imports and to guarantee food to the Ariguanabo people were recognized.
