San Antonio de los Baños, Havana, Cuba- The cultural project Cubafoto calls the fond, professional, resident photographers in the Villa Ariguanabense, the province and the country to taking part in the Second Contest and Exhibition of Photography " Santiago Álvarez In Memoriam ".

In this edition of the contest, in which there can take part the photographers of other countries, a situation tries to penetrate by means of the images not transcendental anyone as form of transcendent news, likewise the way of turning into graphical news of importance a social process, with another look.
The technology and the topic to using will be free, bearing the news in mind in the photography.
The format of presentation of the works must be not minor of 30 x 40 cm and not major of 50 x 60 cm. Every artist will be able to send series or independent works. The series will not exceed 5 photographies each one, but in whole they can send up to 10 works in 2 series or independent works in black and white or color.

The works will be accompanied of a biographical card or the curriculum of the author.
The juror composed by out-standing international specialists, will select and reward the works, which result will be inappealable. It will have or great cash prize and the mentions that the juror considers suitable.

The competitors it will have to send by e-mail to low resolution a copy of every work with his respective information: complete name of the author or the authors, country, technology, measures, telephone, postal address and electronic direction.

The summons will be opened until February 22 of the year in process. The postage and handling will run for the competitors and the organizations of the contest they promise to return the works, if they are requested.

The prizes will be announced in the ceremony of closing of the Festival XI International of Documentaries " Santiago Álvarez In Memoriam " they will circulate by e-mail for knowledge of the competitors and interested parties.

The exhibition of the winning works will take place in the gallery of the Cinema Rialto in Santiago de Cuba.
The copies must be sent in low resolution to festivalsantiagoalvarezarrobaicaic.cu to guarantee the work of inscription, selection and valuation.
